South Africa has very strict employment laws, whereby if a person from South Africa is working for a US business and the US business is their only client, you're basically at risk of misclassification for not really being this person's real employer. And finding good people, the real good people in South Africa who are looking for full-time work, they want an employer of record. They want HR. They don't want to just work with two guys who say trust me, bro. There's a model for the gig basis. The Upwork model is fine, but we were not competing with the gig basis. South Africa does make it very easy to take an employer who they feel wrongfully terminated them to their version of a labor court. You automatically have a 90-day probationary period, and it is pretty good if you're not sure about somebody to make a quick decision within 90 days.
