Matthew Mottola: When I first was exposed to the freelance world, it was in 2012. And since then I still believe there are two first principles. Even though I don't believe that freelance is necessarily it. I think freelance is one aspect of a much larger trend, which is flexible work. The first principle was the best talent needs to be quantified, digitized in a way that their work is more meritocratic. So it's not just this paper resume that has a couple bullets that are mostly made up. The second is that there should be a more direct relationship with the impact and outcomes that you create. The impact of both of those that I think we're finally seeing is middle management is the ones that should be worried. If your job was basically just maintaining the roadmap, maintaining the eight to fifteen person team, you should be terrified, because now that's literally Claude Skills or whatever it is that you're using. This is where solutions like Full Scale are the answer. If you're managing a team of 100 to 500, rather than hiring a manager, partner with someone who is already doing the daily task reports and all the stuff that management used to do.
